In this Maya and RenderMan tutorial, we'll look at how the lighting and rendering were executed for a short we created for SIGGRAPH. Software required: Maya 2016, RenderMan for Maya 20.3.
Our goal with this fast-paced tutorial is to show you how our scenes were lit, how the final render pass was setup and the AOVs that were used as well as several challenges or problems that were worked through for the project. Instead of going step-by-step, we'll look at the overall concepts, various tools and techniques, as well as important tips to keep in mind as you work on similar projects. By the end of this Maya and RenderMan training, you'll walk away with loads of tips and tricks you can use to speed up your next lighting and rendering project.
