Albite-Epidote-Hornfels Facies 2. Hornblende-Hornfels Facies 3. Pyroxene-Hornfels Facies 4. Sanidinite Facies
Muscovite + Quartz are no more stable and cordierite and andalusite/Sillimanite coexist with K-feldspar, biotite and almandine garnet are of restricted occurrence.
PYROXENE-HORNFELS FACIES CHARACTERISTIC MINERAL FEATURES
Presence of wollastonite in calcic assemblages and of calcite-forsterite-periclase (MgO) and calcite-forsterite - diopside in silica-poor dolomitic marbles. 5 . Almandine garnet when present has a high Fe2+/Mg ratio compared with that of granulite facies assemblages. The typical magnesian phase is cordierite.
