Course Description

Overview

Explore recent developments in quantum-inspired tensor network simulations for strongly correlated systems in this 30-minute conference talk by Román Orús from the Donostia International Physics Center. Gain insights into the modeling of breathing Kagome antiferromagnets, 3D thermal bosons, 2D systems with SU(2) symmetry, and 2D/3D Kitaev models. Discover how tensor network formalism extends beyond quantum matter to tackle problems in other fields, including the optimization of dynamical trading trajectories for investment portfolios. Learn about the basics of antiferromagnetism, tensor network simulations, and the application of symmetry in two-dimensional systems. Presented as part of the Tensor Methods and Emerging Applications to the Physical and Data Sciences 2021 workshop at the Institute for Pure & Applied Mathematics (IPAM), UCLA.
