Higher Condensation Theory in Topological Orders
Offered By: BIMSA via YouTube
Course Description
Overview
Explore a comprehensive lecture on Higher Condensation Theory presented by Liang Kong at ICBS2024. Delve into the unified mathematical theory of defect condensations in topological orders across all dimensions. Discover how this theory builds upon higher categories, higher algebras, and higher representations. Learn about the limitations of current defect condensation theories and understand why anyon (or boson) condensations in 2+1D topological orders are the only fully established examples. Examine the recent work presented in arXiv:2403.07813, a collaborative effort with Zhi-Hao Zhang, Jiaheng Zhao, and Hao Zheng. Gain insights into the potential applications of this theory in understanding phase transitions between (topological) quantum phases and (topological) quantum field theories.
