Dynamics of Biological Systems - Lecture 4
Offered By: International Centre for Theoretical Sciences via YouTube
Course Description
Overview
Explore the dynamics of biological systems in this lecture from a comprehensive summer course. Delve into how physics tools can explain complex living systems' behaviors, covering topics like predator-prey population oscillations, multi-species ecosystem chaos, and microscopic organism swimming. Learn to model and predict phenomena such as species competition, population catastrophes, bacterial motility, and collective behavior in fluidic environments using principles from nonlinear dynamics, statistical physics, and fluid dynamics. Designed for undergraduates with no prior biological knowledge, this pedagogical approach introduces biological physics concepts. Participate either in-person or online in this hybrid course, which includes lectures and tutorials spread across May and June 2024.
