Course Description

Overview

Explore the intricacies of baryonic and determinant operators in large N gauge theories through this comprehensive lecture series. Delve into the fundamentals of large N expansions and tackle the challenges associated with these operators. Discover a novel perturbative approach for computing correlation functions of determinant operators, examining emergent semi-classical descriptions, connections to string worldsheet holes, and the "open-closed-open triality" proposed by Gopakumar. Focus primarily on N=4 SYM while also reviewing lesser-known works from the early 1980s. Investigate nonperturbative methods for calculating correlation functions of determinant operators in N=4 SYM using integrability of dual string worldsheet. Topics covered include Kramers-Wannier duality, high and low temperature models, link models, Z(P,Q) models, T-duality, and integration techniques.
