Offered By: Skillshare
Course Description
Overview
Hello, I'm Olga Sorokina, and welcome to my new Skillshare class on perspective drawing for interior design!
WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR?
- Interior design/Architecture students
- Interior designers and architects who want to refresh or up-level their perspective drawing skills
- Beginners in interior drawing
This class is suitable for complete beginners in interior sketching and perspective drawing in general.
WHAT THIS CLASS IS ABOUT IN A NUTSHELL? In this one hour class, I will cover the basics of a one-point perspective (also referred to as frontal view), the simplest and one of the most important for interior designers and architects. Step by step, I'll take you through the basic perspective concepts like the horizon line, eye level, vanishing points, scales, picture plane, and I will show you exactly how to use them in your interior drawings.
WHAT EXACTLY WILL YOU LEARN HERE?
- How to make a grid to scale for a frontal view of an interior
- How to quickly draw interiors in a one-point perspective with the use of the grid
- How to work with the furniture layout
- How to draw with markers
- How to make a beautiful presentation of your project
During this one-hour class, I will deconstruct and make a one-point perspective easy for you.
Together we will go over secrets of perspective, so by finishing this class, you will complete a perspective grid for a frontal view of the interior and draw your very own beautiful and professional-looking interior sketch by using a linear one-point perspective.
I'm sure that at the end of this class, you will fall in love with perspective as much as I do and finally will stop struggling with it.
MATERIALS FOR THE CLASS:
a pencil,
an eraser,
a ruler
a black liner
a couple markers, I will use 3 colours for the demonstration (light grey, dark brown, and orange). Optionally, you can use coloured pencils or even watercolour if currently, you do not have markers at hand
two sheets of A4 format paper: one for the grid and one for the interior sketch itself
HOW YOUR PROFESSIONAL LIFE CAN CHANGE AFTER TAKING THIS CLASS? After mastering this new skill, perspective interior sketching, lots of my students took their interior design practice to the next level, where they can freely sketch their ideas in front of their clients. Some of my students became interior sketch artists and now earn money by drawing commissions for interior designers, design magazines, architectural firms.
Happy learning!
