Food Photography for budding food bloggers | By using just your phone
Offered By: Skillshare
Course Description
Overview
Food has a special meaning for me. The love for food and especially baking drove me to train under professional chefs! I went on to get a certification in baking science. I learnt a lot during that time, picked up tonnes of tricks and tips.
I started blogging and sharing my pictures on social media. But it was the most important lesson I learnt during training days - Food Styling. No matter how lovely your food tastes, it is the look & then the smell which entices people to try it. And in today’s social media world there is a lot more important to it than ever before.
I love to cook, experiment and put up my recipes on my blog site or share it on social media. But I could never do justice to the food through my pictures. I realised a good picture can help you get the eyeballs if you want to increase people to your blogs or to your Instagram/ Pinterest accounts.
I started experimenting with my phone and DSLR. The output wasn’t great at the start. Slowly I learnt many important aspects to better food photography. Professionally shot pictures are beautiful as they use pro photographers with right lens to add the required depth. They edit the pictures well to bring out the essence of the dish! But as a rookie food blogger one doesn’t have the skill and access to expensive equipment.
Hence, this class is built especially for all the budding food bloggers who don’t own a DSLR or are not ready to invest in one just yet.

Apps & Tools that I recommend for editing:
I personally use 2 tools:
1. Snapseed - As it's an application it is easier to edit pictures on the phone and upload them to social media easily. It is simple with tonnes of options to work with.

Google Play Store Link
2. Pixlr (Free Desktop Online Tool) It is a bit advanced but with regular use, it would get easier.
