Course Description

Overview

Dartmouth Health Continuing Education for Professionals Home, Nursing Grand Rounds “ Nurses™ Critical Role in Enhancing Health Literacy, 2/18/2022 8:00:00 AM - 2/18/2025 9:00:00 AM, Nurses are at the forefront of healthcare delivery and play a vital role in the promotion of health literacy. Health literacy is often not well understood by nurses, not commonly approached as a health care system issue, and is not universally executed across health care domains. Strategies and initiatives must be implemented to prepare nurses and other health care providers to embrace the importance of health literacy. Patient empowerment, engagement, and maximized health outcomes will not be achieved unless health literacy is applied universally for every patient, every time, in every health care encounter, and across all areas of care.
