This webinar focuses on Travel in the COVID-19 era. First up: COVID-19 updates. Nationally, new cases are continuing to go up. New record for daily deaths in the US. Regional stay at home order in Southern CA is in effect due to numbers of patients in the hospitals. Stanford, new cases, passing prior peak in July. Bay area hospitalization rate is at the highest since the start of the pandemic. PPE categories are in adequate supply. Average test turnaround time is 17 hours.
Travel in the COVID-19 era topics: COVID-19 lessons to consider for travel, in-flight transmission, recovery of travel and combining measures for safe travel.
Global health security. World tourism organization showed a 70% drop in October, 2020 from years past. Also discussed testing, quarantine, and how serial testing for 1 week can help support safe travel. Testing regulations change, so you need to check often.
Document COVID vaccination, testing and immunity. Travelers need to plan well even if they have been vaccinated. Presenter also provided links to the CDC updated traveler information and CDC testing guidance.
