LISTOS (LMSA Instruction, Support, Training & Orientation Session) for Advisors/Mentors
Offered By: The University of Chicago via Independent
Course Description
Overview
This one-day training is to help chapter advisors and faculty mentors become knowledgeable and well prepared regarding LMSA history, policies, and practices to effectively guide LMSA members. There are two sessions in an academic year, one in the fall and one in spring, not just to develop new chapter advisors and faculty mentors but keep the current ones up to date as things progress across the year. This fosters the growth of specific chapters across the nation. We encourage all advisors and faculty mentors to attend both sessions throughout the academic year but each of them is required to go to one each academic year to remain in good standing.
Syllabus
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Review 2022 challenges in medical education for LHS+ students;
- Describe challenges for 2023;
- Updates on National Center for LMSA Leadership and Advancement;
- Describe challenges and opportunities for faculty, staff, and alumni development.
