Course Description
Overview
This activity will improve the quality of care provided by the nursing team and advanced practice providers caring for patients with inflammatory bowel disease within the University of Chicago’s Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center through knowledge acquisition and interprofessional communication.
This session will educate participants about the disease states of inflammatory bowel disease and the differences between ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. The most up-to-date data and guidelines will enhance their knowledge about inflammatory bowel disease and its many nuances.
Syllabus
After this educational activity, participants will be able to:
- Identify the pathophysiology of inflammatory bowel disease;
- Recognize the differences between ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease;
- Recall the natural history of inflammatory bowel disease;
- State the disease progression and treatment modalities of inflammatory bowel disease.
