Course Description

Overview

In this course we explore the body’s energy systems, how they are used in different circumstances and the limitations of each. You will learn how our bodies:

  • produce energy
  • adapt to training and recovery after activity

It explains concepts in training and athletic development which you may encounter in your own sporting career.

The course is led by Professor Ron Maughan, featuring insights from notable physiologists, coaches and athletes.

The course will take around 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete.

Professor Ron Maughan is Chair of the IOC’s Nutrition Working Group and Programme Director at sportsoracle. He has published numerous books and articles on sports nutrition, and is an editorial board member for the International Journal of Sports Medicine and Nutrition and the Journal of Sports Sciences.

We use a different format in this course, with lectures and video insights included in just two modules. We would love to hear what you think of the way materials are presented. Please use the Feedback link to let us know.
