Course Description
Overview
Teaches information literacy and critical thinking skills and strategies. Explores the social, psychological, and physiological aspects of living in an information-saturated society. Covers disinformation, algorithmic bias, the attention economy, digital polarization, fact-checking, and strategies for discovering, evaluating, and citing reliable and diverse sources of information. This honors course provides enhanced academic rigor with demands that exceed those of a standard version of the course. Honors section highlights student research and the construction of an annotated citation list. May be offered in a distance-learning format. Limitation on enrollment: Honors standing required.
