Course Description
Overview
This presentation will provide an overview of the collaborative approach process imperative to assuring all families can be informed of their loved onesâ opportunity to save lives through organ and tissue donation if they are deemed medically eligible by the organ procurement organization (OPO). Attendees will also be provided with information and clinical cues to make a timely referral to the OPO. A broad overview of the clinical management and organ recovery process will also be integrated into this presentation.

About our Presenter
Craig Tucker, BS, RRT-NPS, CPTC has 9+ years of experience working in the Organ Procurement field in both a clinical capacity and leadership capacity. Currently, Craig oversees Hospital Development and Relations as Director of Donation Strategy for New England Donor Services. Before entering this position he served as a regional director for the Southeastern Region, overseeing both clinical and hospital development coordinators and acting as clinical director and administrator on-call. Early in Craigâs career at NEDS he spent 3 years as a clinical coordinator managing and facilitating the clinical aspect of the donation process.
Learning Outcome
At the conclusion of this learning activity, (at least 75% of) participants will be able to discuss best practice when providing information and care to families regarding organ donation.
