Transmission Dynamics of Influenza and SARS-CoV-2
Offered By: AGU via YouTube
Course Description
Overview
Explore dynamic models of infectious disease systems used to study epidemiological characteristics, ecological mechanisms, and environmental conditions affecting transmission of influenza and SARS-CoV-2. Delve into the application of these models for generating probabilistic forecasts of infectious disease incidence at the population scale. Examine research on meteorological determinants of influenza transmissibility and the development of model systems and combined model-inference frameworks capable of simulation, inference, and forecast of disease outbreaks. Learn from Dr. Jeffrey L. Shaman of Columbia University as he presents his group's findings, with a particular focus on influenza and SARS-CoV-2 transmission dynamics.
