Explore the Component Model, a new proposal within the W3C WebAssembly Community Group, in this 52-minute conference talk by Luke Wagner at ACM SIGPLAN's WAW'24. Discover high-level motivating use cases for the Component Model, gain an overview of its technical design, and learn about the current "Preview 2" and upcoming "Preview 3" releases. Understand how this standard, portable, lightweight, finely-sandboxed, cross-language, and compositional module builds upon the existing Core WebAssembly specification and serves as the foundation for proposed non-browser system interfaces (WASI).
