Overview

Explore a 19-minute conference talk from USENIX Enigma 2023 addressing technology abuse clinics for survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV). Gain insights into how perpetrators exploit digital technologies to inflict physical, financial, and psychological harm on victims. Learn about the Clinic to End Tech Abuse (CETA) and the Technology Enabled Coercive Control Initiative (TECCI), two services partnering with IPV agencies to offer free consultations for survivors experiencing tech abuse. Discover the challenges these clinics face in meeting growing demands and their vision for a network of localized, community-based technology abuse clinics. Examine a new toolkit designed to guide stakeholders in creating and sustaining their own technology abuse clinics, based on collected experiences from serving nearly 700 survivors in New York City and Seattle areas.
