Course Description

Overview

Explore a lecture on exactly solved models of chaotic many-body dynamics presented by Tomaž Prosen from the University of Ljubljana. Delve into the fascinating world of random matrix theory and its effectiveness in describing spectral fluctuations in simple non-integrable many-body systems, focusing on one-dimensional spin 1/2 chains with local interactions. Examine a class of Floquet quantum spin chains, specifically dual unitary Floquet circuits, where the random matrix result for the spectral form factor can be derived or rigorously proven. Discover several other nontrivial exactly solvable features of these models, including dynamical correlations and entanglement dynamics. This 35-minute talk, part of the Tensor Methods and Emerging Applications to the Physical and Data Sciences 2021 workshop series, offers valuable insights into the intersection of quantum mechanics, chaos theory, and many-body physics.
