Collapsed Anosov Flows - Lecture 5
Offered By: Simons Semester on Dynamics via YouTube
Course Description
Overview
Explore the concept of collapsed Anosov flows in this fifth lecture of a mini-course on partially hyperbolic systems. Delve into the study of robust dynamical behavior, statistical properties, and classification problems in dynamical systems beyond uniform hyperbolicity. Examine the newly introduced class of partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms in 3-manifolds called collapsed Anosov flows. Discover how this class represents a goal for classifying partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms in dimension 3 and serves as a category for studying finer dynamical properties. Learn about the "largeness" of collapsed Anosov flows, their accessibility and ergodicity properties, and their connection to self-orbit equivalences of Anosov flows. Gain insights into the equivalent characterizations of strong collapsed Anosov flows, proofs of partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms on hyperbolic 3-manifolds, and the construction of new examples isotopic to identity.
