The Complex Liouville String - Introduction to a New 2D Gravity/Matrix Integral Duality
Offered By: Institute for Advanced Study via YouTube
Course Description
Overview
Explore the intricacies of a new 2d gravity/matrix integral duality in this high-energy theory seminar presented by Beatrix Muehlmann from the Institute for Advanced Study. Delve into the complex Liouville string, a two-dimensional string theory that couples two copies of Liouville CFT with central charges c = 13 ± is on the worldsheet. Discover how this theory can be recast semiclassically as a 2d dilaton gravity with a sine potential for the dilaton, admitting solutions with both positive and negative cosmological constants. Examine the proposed dual description of the complex Liouville string in terms of a double-scaled two-matrix integral. Investigate the interpretation of string amplitudes as cosmological correlators at future infinity of dS3. Gain insights into this work in progress, conducted in collaboration with Scott Collier, Lorenz Eberhardt, and Victor Rodriguez.
