Overview
Explore a conference talk that delves into the co-creation of sound-based mementos with individuals who are blind. Learn about a 12-month study involving seven blind participants and two sighted loved ones, engaging in a multi-stage co-creative design process. Discover three types of sonic mementos designed to Encapsulate, Augment, and Re-imagine personal audio recordings into more meaningful sonic memories. Gain insights into designing sound that supports personal and social reminiscence experiences for people with blindness. Examine proposed design opportunities for promoting collective remembering between blind individuals and their sighted loved ones, as well as design recommendations for remembering through sound.
