Overview
Explore the critical issue of social belonging in STEM fields through a plenary panel featuring Dr. Kendall Moore, award-winning film producer of "Can We Talk Difficult Conversations with Underrepresented People of Color: Sense of Belonging and Obstacles to STEM Fields." Delve into the challenges faced by underrepresented people of color (UR-POC) in pursuing STEM education and careers, including factors that lead to attrition. Following Dr. Moore's opening address, engage with a panel discussion featuring Professor Ruth Enid Zambrana, author of "Toxic Ivory Towers," and other esteemed experts as they examine the experiences of underrepresented minority faculty of color in academia and discuss strategies for fostering intentional inclusion in the professoriate.
