Motives and Ring Stacks
Offered By: Institut des Hautes Etudes Scientifiques (IHES) via YouTube
Course Description
Overview
Explore advanced mathematical concepts in this lecture on motives and ring stacks presented by Peter Scholze from MPIM Bonn. Delve into various cohomology theories describable through analytic ring stacks, including de Rham, Hodge, crystalline, prismatic, Betti, and etale cohomology. Examine the association between 6-functor formalisms and presentable symmetric monoidal (∞,2)-categories. Investigate the classification of certain ring stacks by the symmetric monoidal (∞,2)-category linked to the motivic 6-functor formalism. Understand the necessity of transitioning to analytic geometry for finding such ring stacks, illustrated by the contrast between algebraic and analytic de Rham stacks of A¹. Gain insights into these complex mathematical structures and their interconnections over the course of 1 hour and 21 minutes.
