Offered By: Retro Tech & Electronics via YouTube
Course Description
Overview
Continue the factory maintenance procedure for a Perkins Brailler in this second part of a two-part video series. Begin by thoroughly cleaning the unit with a lint-free rag to remove any remaining kerosene after overnight drying. Perform a final inspection of the paper loading mechanism. Apply the appropriate oils and greases to specific locations, including key bearings, cam rods, and trunions, using the correct techniques for each application. Clean the rubber roller with alcohol. Proceed with reassembly, starting with the back plate alignment, followed by the front plate and carriage lever installation. Attach the apron, oil the paper guide, and install the top. Complete the assembly with the remaining pieces and bottom cover. Conclude with a demonstration and inspection performed by an experienced user to ensure proper functionality of the restored Perkins Brailler.
