Monitor Mesh for Edge Clusters
Offered By: CNCF [Cloud Native Computing Foundation] via YouTube
Course Description
Overview
Explore a monitoring mesh solution for edge cloud environments in this 23-minute conference talk by Liye Pang from Inspur and Huailong Zhang from Intel. Learn how this service mesh-inspired approach implements monitoring for edge clusters through a centralized cloud control plane and distributed data plane. Discover how the control plane dynamically perceives edge clusters, workload changes, and monitoring resources, creating and distributing configurations for each edge cluster. Understand the role of edge clusters in receiving and deploying monitoring components based on control plane information. Examine the data plane architecture, where each cluster maintains its own monitoring components for real-time notifications, and a distributed time-series database ensures comprehensive, global metric data storage and sharing with the centralized cloud for dynamic perception.
