Manage CPU and Memory Resources for LXD Linux VMs
Offered By: Trevor Sullivan via YouTube
Course Description
Overview
Explore the allocation of CPU and memory resources to virtual machines running with LXD under Linux in this 23-minute video. Learn about hot-plugging CPUs, adding and removing them since LXD version 5.8 (November 2022). Understand the limitations of memory allocation, which requires shutting down the VM before adding. Discover how to use the "lxc config" command to control CPU cores and RAM allocation for each LXD virtual machine. As a bonus, examine LXD nested virtualization, allowing you to run LXD virtual machines on top of other LXD virtual machines for flexible infrastructure deployment. Gain insights into LXD's capabilities, including hot-plugging CPUs, memory allocation restrictions, nested virtualization support, and using the "lxc config" command to modify VM or LXD daemon settings.
