Different Notions of Tameness Revisited in Étale Morphisms
Offered By: Institut des Hautes Etudes Scientifiques (IHES) via YouTube
Course Description
Overview
Explore an in-depth lecture on different approaches to defining tameness for étale morphisms of schemes. Delve into the valuation-theoretic perspective of tameness, examining work in progress that utilizes nonarchimedean geometry to compare various notions without relying on resolution of singularities. Investigate the geometry of adic curves over arbitrary affinoid fields and the wild locus of étale morphisms between such curves. Gain insights into how this approach builds upon and extends previous work by Kerz and Schmidt, offering a more general framework for understanding tameness in algebraic geometry.
