Understanding Recent and Historical Seismicity in the Central and Eastern U.S. - Part 2
Offered By: AGU via YouTube
Course Description
Overview
Explore a comprehensive conference session from the 2012 AGU Fall Meeting focused on understanding recent and historical seismicity in the Central and Eastern United States. Delve into eight presentations covering various aspects of seismic activity, including challenges for future earthquake studies in the Eastern US, mid-continental seismicity recorded by USArray, and the integration of data from multiple seismic networks. Examine insights into Oklahoma's increased seismicity, Coulomb stress modeling of the 2011 M5.7 Oklahoma earthquake sequence, and the investigation of potentially induced earthquakes in east Texas. Learn about recent seismic activity in Southern Illinois and Southern Missouri, as well as evidence for persistent faulting related to the 2011 Louisa County, Virginia earthquake. Gain valuable knowledge from expert speakers on the complexities of seismic activity in traditionally less active regions of the United States.
