Metamorphic and Magmatic Processes at High Pressure - Part 1
Offered By: AGU via YouTube
Course Description
Overview
Explore cutting-edge research on metamorphic and magmatic processes at high pressures in this 1 hour 50 minute conference session from the 2012 AGU Fall Meeting. Delve into topics including the solubility of Nb-bearing rutile in aqueous fluids, crystallization of oxidized arc basalt, arc delamination geochemistry, recycling in arcs, composition of H2O-saturated peridotite melts, effects of light elements on siderophile element partitioning, and deep carbon recycling. Gain insights from invited talks and research presentations covering experimental petrology, geochemistry, and high-pressure processes relevant to subduction zones, arc magmatism, and deep Earth dynamics.
