Lab Automation for High-Throughput Discovery Science
Offered By: Labroots via YouTube
Course Description
Overview
Explore lab automation for high-throughput discovery science in this webinar presented by Carlos Goller, Associate Teaching Professor at North Carolina State University. Learn how undergraduate and graduate courses are designed to teach high-throughput discovery science and lab automation, integrating research-scale automation into student courses and research experiences. Discover an NSF-funded project creating a network of educators to build case studies on high-throughput approaches in drug screening, microscopy, sequencing, and other applications. Gain insights into the use of Opentrons OT-2 and Zymo Research kits for automating nucleic acid extraction and RNAseq library prep. Examine a case study on a group assignment where students design scripts to automate Zymo Research kits on the OT-2, developing JoVE.com style manuscripts addressing biologically-relevant questions. Understand how this challenging assignment promotes interdisciplinary teamwork and embraces new challenges with liquid handlers, preparing students for high-throughput discovery science.
