- High BNP lab value brain natriuretic peptides
- Low ejection fraction EF below 40 - 55% using an echocardiogram
- Hemodynamic Monitoring can also be used to measure central venous pressure CVP using a Swans Ganz Cath, also called a pulmonary artery catheter, but this is typically only used in severe heart failure
