Offered By: NPTEL via YouTube
Course Description
Overview
Instructor: Prof. Rajat Rastogi, Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Roorkee.
This course deals with topics in railway engineering and airport engineering. The first part of this course covers topics in railway engineering: wheel and axles, track resistances, stresses in track, rails, creep in rails, jointed and welded rails, speeds on track, train control systems, and high speed tracks. The second part discusses topics in airport engineering: aircraft characteristics, aircraft controls, runway, taxiway, terminal area and building, and visual-aids markings.
