Overview
Explore the unique challenges and specific needs of adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer patients in this 51-minute presentation by Dr. Annah Abrams. Learn about the historical division of cancer care between pediatric and older adult patients, and how this impacts AYAs as they navigate their cancer treatment while managing mental health, financial concerns, educational and career goals, fertility issues, and social connections. Discover the clinical and psychosocial frameworks being developed to address the distinct needs of the AYA population, as well as new social opportunities designed to support these patients.
