Using AWS Mainframe Modernization Replatform with Micro Focus Packaged Deployment on Amazon EC2

AWS Mainframe Modernization is a set of tools providing infrastructure and software for migrating, modernizing, and running mainframe applications. In this course, you learn the replatforming pattern of AWS Mainframe Modernization Replatform with Micro Focus on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2). You can use AWS Replatform with Micro Focus to build EC2 instances by using an Amazon Machine Image (AMI) that is available through a private AWS Marketplace offering. This course builds on the AWS Mainframe Modernization Replatform with Micro Focus Getting Started course.

Course objectives

In this course, you will learn to:

• Start an Amazon EC2 instance by using the Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) provided by AWS Replatform with Micro Focus
• Build the directory that supports a Micro Focus Enterprise Server region
• Start the Micro Focus Directory Server (MFDS) and Enterprise Server Common Web Access (ESCWA) processes
• Use ESCWA to import, configure, and terminate an Enterprise Server region
• Use ESCWA to start and stop an Enterprise Server region
• Use ESCWA to monitor an Enterprise Server region
