Twinkl Phonics is a fully comprehensive, systematic, synthetic phonics teaching programme designed to be used with children from nursery to year 2. Delivered through the stories and adventures of Kit, Sam and the Twinkl Phonics family, the scheme builds and develops the skills and understanding that children need to become effective, independent readers and writers.

Systematic, synthetic phonics builds GPC knowledge, and blending and segmenting skills continuously on prior learning. By following Twinkl Phonics as a whole school approach, you will be able to establish a progressive and consistent phonics curriculum where children can meet or exceed age-related expectations. Twinkl Phonics includes full lesson planning and support resources. Guidance on use is included within this training course.

Twinkl Phonics’ teaching sequence complements the progression laid out in Letters and Sounds. It is therefore very easy to transition to Twinkl Phonics if you have previously taught using this document.
