Course Description
Overview
Business is a social activity that brings man, money, machine and materials together to produce goods and services that fulfill our basic needs and make our lives easier. The use of modern technology in all fields of business has made the business globally competitive. It has become more sensitive and is affected by the consumption patterns, government policies, change in ICT and has become more exposed to uncertainties. A systematic effort is needed to analyze, manage and respond to the changes affecting business in the present-day society. The course is divided into 8 modules. Essential learning experiences are described in the modules. These modules emphasize on nature and scope of business, business practices in the past and the modern trends, forms and formation of business organization, management, finance and marketing. It also covers details about the environment in which the business operates and highlights consumer protection.This course aims at creating interest and understanding in the area of trade, management, finance, marketing, consumer protection and enable learners to acquire necessary knowledge to start their own venture or to earn their own livelihood by being employed.
