Overview

Education is a basic ingredient for achieving full human potential. The world is undergoing rapid changes in the Knowledge landscape. As per National Education Policy 2020, a good Educational Institution is one in which every student feels welcomed and cared for, where a safe and stimulating learning environment exists, where a wide range of learning experiences are offered, and where good physical infrastructure and appropriate resources conducive to learning are available to all students. Attaining these qualities must be the goal of every educational institution.Assessment and Accreditation as an external Quality Assurance Mechanism for Higher Education has emerged as the most widely accepted and adopted methodology throughout the world. Accreditation practices fall into two distinct categories.i)Country-Specific practices (Pertains mainly to the leaders in the quality movement)ii)Region-Specific Efforts (Collective efforts for extending the quality movement to other countries).National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) was established by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 1994 as an Autonomous Institution. The philosophy of NAAC is based on objective and continuous improvement rather than being punitive or judgmental, so that all institutions of higher learning are empowered to maximize their resources, opportunities and capabilities.This course is designed as 40 hrs with eight modules covering 7 criteria and introductory module for Eight Weeks Duration. At the end of the course, the participants will be ablei)To appreciate the importance of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education.ii)To explain the Revised Assessment and Accreditation Framework for Higher Educational Institutionsiii)To discuss Institutional Information for Quality Assessment and the establishment of IQAC.iv)To explain seven criteria, key Indicators, Distribution of weightage and Philosophy involved.v)To prepare self-study Reports, student satisfaction Survey, Data verification and Validation and to face Peer Team visit with Comprehensive supporting documents.The Course is designed in such way that the participants will get necessary inputs for acquiring NAAC Accreditation for their Institution.There will be varieties of learning experiences through Lectures, Demonstration, and Discussions from Leading Experts working in various reputed Institutions, which have got the NAAC Accreditation.
