Course Description

Overview

This course looks at the inter-linkages between women and peace. It introduces some of the basic concepts of gender which will enable the learners to critically engage with women’s questions in relation to peace. This is an interdisciplinary course which offers a gender perspective to the peace process in the contexts of India and in the International arena. The course allows learners to locate women’s questions in contexts of caste, community, ethnicity, violence, environmental movements, economic participation and so on. The centrality of this course also revolves around the issue i.e., women’s role in the peace building process as agents of change initiatives.
