Electronic Systems for Sensor Applications
Offered By: Indian Institute of Technology Bombay via Swayam
Course Description
Overview
This course consists of four modules covering several aspects of electronic systems for sensor applications.
Module 1:Sensors: Design and Analysis
Module 2:A Brief on Example Circuits for Sensor Systems
Module 3:Adaptive Signal Processing
Module 4:Mathematical Principles in Electronic Systems
The first stage in most smart electronics and embedded systems starts with the sensors. Understanding how to design and use sensors typically requires interdisciplinary knowledge of several topics. In the first module of this course we learn about these aspects, and place emphasis on how to develop a design mind-set for solving application-oriented problems through a variety of case studies.
Electronic systems are a necessity in most of engineering products. No matter what is or will be the technology, analysis and design of electronic systems, is and will be the key. Hence, the second module of the course is about the analysis and design of an example circuit, foreach of the following areas, for sensing applications.
In the third module of the course, we look at adaptive signal processing that will help us understand and analyze non-linear, time-varying systems and non-parametric models for signals. With this understanding we next understand neural-networks that do a non-linear mapping to learn approximation functions. These topics are related to realistic and practical applications of the learnt tools.
Electronic systems, in general, exemplify an effective use of mathematics to analyze and design effectively. 4th module of the course illustratescases studies of mathematical principles and application examples with some glimpses of active learning opportunities. In particular, examples of these areas are included: the applications of complex analysis, transform domain analysis and principles from linear algebra.
