Applied Computational Fluid Dynamics
Offered By: Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur via Swayam
Course Description
Overview
ABOUT THE COURSE:The primary goal of this course is to familiarize faculty members, students and researchers with fundamental concepts of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and enable them to numerically solve fluid flows. This course will primarily cover the basics of flow computations with emphasis on classification of partial differential equations, numerical discretization, stability and convergence of schemes, shock-capturing, and boundary conditions. Various approaches for simulating fluid flows including RANS, LES and DNS will be introduced, and basics of turbulence modeling will be discussed in detail.INTENDED AUDIENCE: UG and PG students in chem/mech/civil/aerospace engg. departmentsPREREQUISITES: Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Numerical MethodsINDUSTRY SUPPORT: HAL, NAL, ISRO, DRDO and Private Automobile and Aerospace Industries (Airbus, Boeing, Tata Motors etc.)
