Overview
In this professional certificate you will discover Structured Query Language (SQL) programming basics in relation to database management and data manipulation. You will acquire skills in SQL concepts that include joins, database schemas, database design and importing data into a database.
You will become familiar with common visualization tools and hone your skills in fundamentals of data visualization. You will develop, through hands-on-practice, deep familiarity with the industry-dominant tools for visualization. Your journey into the world of data visualization data visualization will have you creating compelling, eye-catching visuals with high levels of functional utility.
Syllabus
Course 1: SQL for Everyone
This course introduces relational database concepts and helps you learn and apply foundational knowledge of SQL. The emphasis in this course is on hands-on and practical learning.
Course 2: SQL for Business Intelligence
This course covers referential integrity and structured query language (SQL). You will learn how to use SQL statements “SELECT,” “FROM,” “WHERE,” and “JOINS.” These SQL statements will help you filter, compare, and analyze the data in your database.
Course 3: Dashboards and Data Visualizations
Analytics is a form of visual storytelling that informs business strategy. In this course, students will consider how visualization choices ultimately influence the clarity and strength of the stories they seek to tell. Students will become familiar with common visualization tools, and hone their skills in data visualization.

Structured Query Language (SQL) is a standardized programming language used to manage relational databases and perform various operations on their data.
This is the first course of a two-part series to introduce relational database concepts and help you learn and apply foundational knowledge of SQL. This course will get you started with performing SQL access in a data science environment. The emphasis in this course is on hands-on and practical learning. You will work with real databases, real data science tools, and real-world data sets. You will create a database instance in the cloud. You will practice building and running SQL queries through a series of hands-on labs. No prior knowledge of databases, SQL, R, or programming is required.

Structured Query Language (SQL) is a standardized programming language used to manage relational databases and perform various operations on their data. This is the second course in a two-part series. The second portion of the course covers referential integrity and structured query language (SQL). You will learn how to use SQL statements “SELECT,” “FROM,” “WHERE,” and “JOINS.” These SQL statements will help you filter, compare, and analyze the data in your database. You will learn how to implement basic processing functionalities to create new structured database environments and analyze the results of queries constructed to address data requirements.
