Course Description

Overview

Welcome

Hi there! I’m Jose Ocando, a freelance web designer and developer. I built my business using Webflow, an online tool for developing 100% custom websites without having to write any code.

This class is for beginners and intermediate users who:

  • want to learn how to develop their own portfolios or business sites
  • want to launch a new career in web development.

If you have 0 knowledge of web development, that’s ok. We’ll be starting from scratch.

You’ll be learning:

  • How to use the Webflow interface for maximum effectiveness
  • Simple HTML concepts to properly structure your site
  • Simple CSS concepts to create a clean site
  • Simple SEO (Search Engine Optimization) concepts to create a site that gets found
  • How to build a responsive site that looks great on desktop and on mobile
  • Best practices for importing images
  • Best practices for a light-weight website that loads fast
  • How to create subtle animations that add to your site’s look and feel

Together, we'll be creating:

A simple one-page portfolio website for a photographer. For the class project, create your own Webflow project and follow along. I've got all the assets ready for you to download!
