UX 101: Apply Design Thinking to Create Engaging Designs
Offered By: Skillshare
Course Description
Overview
User Experience is about solving problems—at least with web, apps, or digital products (sorry, rest of the World). As a User Experience (UX) Designer, you'll use a bit of psychology, design, and logic to make sure the time users spend on your product is pleasant and effective. In this class, I'll be going over what User Experience is, the fundamentals of the design process, and how those two work together. Specifically you will learn how to:
- Figure out the main problem on a digital product
- Clearly define your goals & requirements
- Determine the scope of your project
- Define your target audience/users
- Learn about the design trends and what competitors are doing
- Define a clear start-to-finish path of user's tasks
- Figure out content per screen with low-fidelity wireframes
All you need to begin is a familiarity with websites, apps, and the digital world, the World Wide Web, and a curiosity that cannot be contained. For supplies you'll need pen/pencil, colored highlighters, paper, internet access, and some type of graphic creating program like Photoshop, Sketch, Illustrator, or Paint.
After you learn some fundamentals, you'll apply your new knowledge to create a simple, beautiful design that helps users easily complete their task. At the end, you'll be on your way to mastering user-storyboard and low-fidelity wireframes to begin your budding UX career!
