The Art of Animation: How to Create Lifelike Movement
Offered By: Skillshare
Course Description
Overview
Want to take your animations from standard to spectacular? Join esteemed motion designer Emanuele Colombo to discover the secrets behind great animation!
In this demystifying class, Emanuele reveals the magic behind creating realistic animations. With the help of a list of animation principles developed by two Disney animators in the 80's, Emanuele dives deep into the four most effective principles for expressing character and personality through movement. With each lesson, you’ll learn how to achieve each principle in After Effects, then see how to apply them to a character animation and transform it from something simple into something spectacular. In this class, you'll learn how to:
- Set the stage by building anticipation with slight movements
- Add a sense of realism by having forms follow through and overlap with one another
- Create the illusion of weight by squashing and stretching objects as they move
- Add interest and meaning to your actions with supplemental movements
Plus, along the way Emanuele shares his favorite After Effects tips and tricks so that you can master the program in no time.
Whether you’re new to animation or you’re looking to take your animation back to the basics, this class will give you the tools you need to add character, personality, and lifelike movement to any animation you choose!
