Sketchbook Stories - How to Illustrate Your Life
Offered By: Skillshare
Course Description
Overview
Hi. My name is Jessica Wesolek and I have been filling sketchbooks and teaching other folks how for fifteen years, both online and off. This is my first Skillshare Class.
Sketchbooks have been around since the beginning of art history, but they were always used as practice for some other art.
Some years ago now, artists began thinking of sketchbooks differently - as “keeper” art for themselves, and the idea really took off. Eventually, organizations like Urban Sketchers and Sketchbook Skool were born, and many artists started tracking daily activities, travel, gardens, and nature studies by illustrating them in sketchbooks.
Sketchbooking is an art practice that brings life-long joy, both through the creation process, and later, in the enjoyment of revisiting life moments in your sketchbooks that might otherwise have been forgotten. In this class, we will start a sketchbook practice that may just end up being the most joyful thing in your art life.
