Course Description

Overview

"Photography is about capturing what we can see. Illustration is about imagining what we can't see."

Join artist, muralist, and professional illustrator Eric Friedensohn (@Efdot) to learn how to combine photography and hand-drawn illustration to create something new and unique. With the use of Procreate, you’ll learn how to transform a photo into a dazzling piece of artwork.

In this class, you will learn how to:

  • Find inspiration and references to foster a unique approach
  • Choose a photograph that is ready for remixing
  • Concept and brainstorm ideas by getting into the “open” mode
  • Sketch your layout and lettering using Procreate layers
  • Add color and illustrative elements to create an expressive artwork

By the end of the class, you’ll have your very own original photo-remix. This is a class for beginner to intermediate level artists of all kinds who are looking for a fun and accessible project that can be shared digitally, in print, or for commercial projects

Materials required are an iPad Pro + Procreate app, a sketchbook, pencils, erasers and paint markers. Optional - more paints or colored pencils.
