Course Outline:
- Introduction - Hear what is to come from my beginners course
- Tools and Terminology - I discuss all the tools required to start you pattern making journey
- Basic measurement and how to measure - I talk through a basic UK size 8 measurement chart and show you how to take measurements on a body/mannequin
- Blocks and Slopers and why we use them - I talk through the basic bodice block and the importance of why we use them
- *Basic bodice block - I draft out a basic bodice from the block.*Note that I have a separate course that develops a block/sloper from scratch
- Pattern labelling, seam allowances and cutting instructions - I talk you through how to label up a pattern, add seam allowances and why we have them and label cutting instructions for production
- Basic dart manipulation - I show you how to draft an underarm dart
- Necklines - I show you how to create a V-neck neckline from a block with a round neck
- Verticle or Princess line - I show you how to draft these style lines from a sketch
- Shift dress/lengthening a bodice block - I show you how to draft a shift dress from a bodice block
- Pencil skirt - I show you how to create a simple pencil skirt from a block
