Master Watercolor Techniques: Learn to Paint a Watercolor Succulent
Offered By: Skillshare
Course Description
Overview
Watercolor is a popular medium to work in and there's good reason for that, it's because it is an absolute joy to work with. Of all the mediums, it is my favourite to use. It's quick, it's vibrant and it often creates suprising and unexpected results. The effects you can create with watercolor can be matched by no other medium. It never fails to delight me.
In this class, I will walk you step by step through the painting of this watercolor succulent. I'll show you how you can use this medium to create a detailed, light filled painting.
You will learn how to:
- paint washes
- deepen colour
- paint wet on wet
- paint wet on dry
- blend paint on the paper
- paint watercolor droplets
- add detail
- interpret a reference photo
I'll also show you how I place my paint on my palette and how doing this is crucial to the way I paint. I provide you with a line drawing of the succulent and the reference photo that I took so you can paint as you watch the videos.
