Intro to Rapid Prototyping: Learn the basics
Offered By: Skillshare
Course Description
Overview
Have you recently heard someone say "Lean UX", "Wireframing", or "Prototyping" but weren't sure you knew what they were talking about?
Well, congratulations you're normal. The term "User Experience" is a fairly new word, and its' two-letter abbreviation (UX) is even newer. A lot of people are out of the loop with this new development, don't worry.
In this class, we're going to cover the basics of UX and prototyping to get you up to speed. We're going to cover all the terms, what they mean, and go over examples so you can better understand how modern UX works.
At the end of the class, you'll be ready to jump off and start learning more in-depth information about UX and Prototyping or just feel confident in your ability to converse and understand UX terms.
What we'll learn:
- What's the difference between User Interface (UI), Information Architecture (IA), and User Experience (UX)? What's a storyboard? What does "interactivity" mean? We'll cover all of these terms and several others.
- Whats the difference between "high fidelity" and "low fidelity"? When should we use each?
- Whats the point of wireframing? Where does it fit in the development process?
- Standard practices for efficient UX.
What you'll do:
For our project, we have a scavenger hunt that utilizes all of your new knowledge. You'll go out and find a wieframe or prototype of a popular website or mobile application that you use everyday. When you find one (I'll bet you $5 that there are many), you'll get to share with the group and discuss.
